The New Oris Aquis Taste of Summer ‘Berries Edition’ Capsule Collection
Summer is approaching, and the evergreen Aquis Date series gets to shine brighter in berry-inspired colours.

Last year, Oris whet our appetite with two watermelon-coloured 41.5mm dive models, which added a fresh new look to the Aquis Date series, already featuring quite a variety of dial options, including dark green, blue, black, cherry red, and the upcycled, multi-coloured one. For this summer season, the Hölstein-based brand gets a bit more poetic with its new capsule collection. Designed to evoke the sensations of a “sweet-scented Alpine summer”, the Taste of Summer models feature gradient sunrise red-pink and violet dials.
As expected, the new Oris Aquis Date Taste of Summer watches retain last year’s subtle collection updates, resulting in a more refined profile and a more comfortable wearer experience. You can learn about the changes from our review here. The new models are presented in a 36.5mm x 11.95mm and 43.5mm x 13.1mm multi-part stainless steel case with short, ergonomic lugs and feature a unidirectional rotating bezel with ceramic or tungsten inserts; the latter applies to the larger model. The bezels also differ in design; the smaller model does not mark the 15-minute segment or the numerals at 10-minute intervals. The case is topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal, and the screwed caseback features mineral glass. A prominent guard protects the screwed crown, and the watches are 300m water-resistant.
The Aquis Date 36.5mm comes with a sunrise red-pink dial, and the 43.5mm variant is adorned with a violet one, meant to evoke “crepuscular light that lingers long into the mid-summer night”. Both feature applied, pointed, shield-shaped indices and Alpha hour and minute hands, treated with Super-LumiNova, and a lollipop central seconds hand. The date disc is white for the red-pink variant and black for the one with the violet dial, a departure from the update that introduced a colour-matched date disc on all Aquis models.
Both models use the automatic Oris 733 calibre (Sellita SW200-1 base, clone of the ETA 2824) operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour, with a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement has a stop-seconds device for precision time setting, and the date change is instantaneous.
The new Oris Aquis Taste of Summer models are offered on a stainless steel bracelet closed with a safety folding clasp; the 43.5mm version also comes with an extension feature. These new watches will be available in May this year, and the price is EUR 2,400 or CHF 2,400 each. For more, visit oris.ch.
