Following the success of the Millesime collection, a series of vintage-inspired, 1930s-based watches, Raymond Weil went on to revamp one of its older collections, the Toccata. For nearly 50 years, the Toccata has explored the realms of shaped dress watches, finding inspiration in classically composed music. But at the end of 2025, RW presented the Toccata Heritage, a thin, elegant and accessible take on the elliptical case. A well-received novelty, which we’ve explored in detail in this article and video, the Toccata Heritage comes back now in a bolder, more colourful version mixing a red grape dial with rose gold PVD coating.

Surfing on the trends and the renewed interest for shaped, classic and dressier timepieces, RW released the Toccata Heritage with quite some success. The idea was to give this normally quite classic collection a twist, with an elliptical or ellipse case, not without recalling a certain watch by Patek Philippe (in a very different price range, however). The Toccata Heritage is built around a compact case measuring 33mm in width and 38mm in length, with a very pleasant thinness of 6.95mm. Contrary to many 1970s elliptical watches from UG, PP, VC or AP, Raymond Weil went for a case with lugs (short ones, but still present). The stainless steel case is polished throughout and equipped with sapphire crystals on both sides.

Following the introduction of classic editions in steel with a silver or blue dial, as well as a rose gold PVD edition with a light copper-toned dial, the brand adds two new references to the collection, with much more punch. Housed in rose gold PVD cases, these new Toccata Heritage flaunt a bright red grape dial with a sunray-brushed finish, and hands and applied markers matching the case. Other than that, the watches remain identical, only with more visual presence.

Inside the case, and responsible for the overall thinness of these watches, is a slim hand-wound movement based on the Sellita SW210-1, an alternative to the ETA 2801, itself a hand-wound version of the emblematic ETA 2824. Measuring 25.6mm by 3.35mm, this movement runs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a power reserve of 45 hours.

This new red grape Raymond Weil Toccata Heritage is available either on a classic black calfskin leather strap with alligator embossing and gold PVD pin buckle, or a stainless steel, rose gold PVD-coated, multi-link bracelet with folding clasp. Now available from the brand and retailers, these are respectively priced at EUR 1,750 and EUR 1,850. For more details, please visit www.raymond-weil.com.
