Announced in 2023, the Konstantin Chaykin White Rabbit Watch is an exceptional complication watch inspired by the enchanting world of Alice in Wonderland. Featuring no fewer than 16 complications, it takes the form of a reversible, transformable case (pocket watch to wristwatch and vice versa). This complicated and poetic “wristmon” was released in a limited edition of 6 pieces that sold out immediately. The sixth piece is now offered at Auction with Ineichen in Zurich.

As its name suggests, the White Rabbit watch is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland – more precisely by Alice’s remark in chapter seven about “a watch that shows the day of the month but not the time”, which brought Chaykin to develop an in-house perpetual calendar, a first in Russian horology. With sixteen complications, the White Rabbit approaches the complexity of Chaykin’s Stargazer with its 17 complications and surpasses it in component count: 691 parts.

This finely crafted timepiece incorporates the following complications: joker indication (Chaykin’s proprietary double-disc time display where the hour and minute discs serve as the eyes of his wristmons), perpetual calendar (date, day, month, leap-year), day length, night length, dead-beat seconds, moon phase, instantaneous am/pm, sunrise, sunset, zodiac sign, suspended time. The suspended time function is activated by pressing the left-side pusher, which instantly freezes the time and moves both pupil discs to 6:00, creating a cross-eyed expression on the watch’s rabbit-like face. The White Rabbit’s 42-mm titanium case is convertible from wristwatch to pocket watch and back. Cleverly integrated to form ears, the lugs/chain attachment recreates a rabbit’s head.

This unique Chaykin White Rabbit watch and the “A Mad Horological Party” painting will be auctioned by Ineichen on December 13, 2025, as two separate lots. This original painting by Chaykin himself was conceived as a metaphor for the development of the White Rabbit wristwatch. Its title references Chapter Seven of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, a chapter rich with reflections on the nature of time – a thematic foundation of the watch itself.
