The new Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable
Following the Time Eater watches, it's time for an expressive frog princess...
The collaboration between the indie brand Louis Erard and the master watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin has already given birth to several limited-edition watches based on the Time Eater concept – such as this tourbillon with regulator display. As Dubai Watch Week 2025 open its doors tomorrow, we get a different concept, yet still inspired by Chaykin’s expressive Wristmons universe. Meet the new Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable.
This new collaborative watch is a “frog princess” expressed through a redesigned case and a regulator movement flipped 90 degrees to create its frog face, with the time indications now aligned horizontally rather than vertically. The hours and seconds are indicated respectively at 9 o’clock and at 3 o’clock by rotating discs, and the minutes in the centre by an arrow-shaped hand. As a consequence, the winding crown, besides its functional role, becomes a literal queen’s crown or tiara perched on our frog’s head. 40mm in diameter and 12.45mm thick, the reworked case is made from grade 5 titanium. The watch is released in two limited editions of 178 pieces each, one in violet and the other in forest green. At the periphery of the dial, the flange of the Unfrogettable watch features the Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin inscription.
To describe the blend of playfulness and eccentricity that defines this collab, Emmanuel Emch of Louis Erard explains: “With Konstantin, we’re beyond a simple collaboration; it’s a creative partnership and friendship. Two independent houses that aren’t afraid to shake things up. Honouring tradition and adding a grin. We break the mould, stir the myth and make you smile while thinking twice. Our new character is the Unfrogettable. It’s more than a face; we went beyond the dial, the hands, the crown. We’ve done tourbillons. We’ve done complications. So, this time, we worked on the case, shaped new surfaces in titanium and designed a strap made from the same lacquered leather once used in samurai armour. Every detail has meaning. The frog, in Russian tales, is a spell in disguise. In Japan, it symbolises luck and resilience. Put them together and you get a hybrid, a frog with a warrior’s heart. This watch is playful and a little crazy, yes, but behind the mischief is serious horology. It’s a full story told through mechanical craft, with a twist.”
These Unfrogettable limited-edition watches are powered by the automatic Sellita SW266-1, the same reliable calibre used in several Louis Erard regulators. It operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and offers 38 hours of autonomy. It is visible through the sapphire caseback, with an openworked oscillating weight bearing Louis Erard’s black lacquer symbol.
The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable comes on a strap made of Himeji Kurozan leather, hand-rubbed and Urushi-lacquered. It is available as of November 2025. Price is set at CHF 4,500 (excl. taxes). For more details, please visit LouisErard.com.
