Collaborations between Louis Erard and Alain Silberstein are easy to spot by now, and the new Smile-Day Blue and Tourbillon Régulateur Blue fit right in. Over the past few years, the duo has worked across regulators, tourbillons, and more playful complications, always built around Silberstein’s mix of bold colours and simple geometric shapes. It is an approach that hasn’t changed much, and that really seems to be the point. Rather than trying to do something completely new each time, these Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein watches move forward through small updates, whether in colour, layout, or execution.

Both models come with a new blue sunray dial and also mark the start of the “Hall of Fame” collection, a new line set aside for long-term collaborations. The idea is to keep these watches available over time, but in limited numbers, so they are not one-off releases while still keeping that sense of rarity. Production is capped annually, with up to 250 day/date models and 50 tourbillons made within the Hall of Fame collection.

On the Smile-Day Blue, the display at 6 o’clock brings back the quirky smiley day indicator seen in earlier Alain Silberstein collaborations, with bold shapes and primary colours doing most of the work as usual. This display shifts through the days, black on weekdays and red over the weekend as the smile slowly opens up. The signature hands are all here too, with a red triangle for hours, a white arrow for minutes, and a yellow serpentine seconds hand, all popping against the rich blue dial.

The Tourbillon Régulateur Blue follows the same idea but packs a more technical edge. Its display is split in a regulator style, with hours at 12, minutes in the centre, and the tourbillon opening at 6 o’clock. You can see the movement working through the dial, and the time is still easy to read.

Both watches share the same 40mm titanium case, mixing microblasted Grade 2 titanium with additional polished touches. At 11.8mm thick with a 47mm lug-to-lug, it sits in a comfortable range, not to mention its lightweight build. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

The Smile-Day Blue runs on the Sellita SW220-1 automatic movement with day and date, while the Tourbillon Régulateur Blue uses the hand-wound BCP T02 calibre that packs a 100-hour power reserve and a one-minute tourbillon. Both come on a blue nylon strap with a hook-and-loop closure, keeping things easy to adjust on the wrist. The Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Smile-Day Blue is priced at CHF 4,000, while the Tourbillon Régulateur Blue is priced at CHF 15,900. For more information, please visit www.louiserard.com.
