The New Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Kudoke Limited Editions
Stefan Kudoke lends his signature style to design the new Le Régulateur collaborative series, which we've come to associate with Louis Erard's revival.
Under the leadership of Manuel Emch, Louis Erard has gained significant attention, mainly due to its affordable luxury approach and collaborations with notable watchmakers and designers. These partnerships have brought the brand into the limelight since its revival following a private investor’s acquisition in 2003. Renowned watchmakers and creatives such as Konstantin Chaykin, Alain Silberstein, Vianney Halter, Olivier Mosset, atelier oï, Massena LAB, seconde/seconde, and Label Noir have infused their vision and imagination into Louis Erard’s classic regulator-type displays, resulting in releases that are playful, eerie, colourful or pitch black, and always captivating. The new Le Régulateur Louis Erard limited editions, created in partnership with the German independent watchmaker Kudoke, showcase the best of both brands, and we are excited to offer a first look.
The new Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Kudoke limited release consists of four watches in 42mm diameters, 50m water-resistant, polished stainless steel cases topped with domed sapphire crystals and offering a view of the movement through the transparent caseback. All four blend Kudoke’s distinctive HANDwerk decorative style with the clarity and elegance of the three in-line hands display Louis Erard is famous for.
The dials are available in light blue (limited to 100 pcs), purple (78 pcs), and forest green (100 pcs), each featuring the classic Kudoke grained finish, and there´s a white mother-of-pearl option too (78 pcs). Each watch has an applied, rhodium-plated minutes track ring with dotted markers and matching smaller rings for the hours and seconds sub-dials, located at the top and bottom of the dial, respectively. These rings are satin-finished and chamfered, as are the nameplates for Louis Erard and Kudoke positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock. The Kudoke-style infinity-shaped hour hand sweeps across the upper white sub-dial, adorned with a “Clous de Paris” pattern. All hands, including the central minutes and small seconds, are crafted from blued steel.
At first glance, the Louis Erard x Kudoke watches, regardless of the variant, could easily be mistaken for pure Kudoke creations due to their strong influence. However, typical Louis Erard details, such as the distinctive fir tree crown, the openworked rotor with a black lacquered Louis Erard logo, and the three-part Normont-series case – featuring a caseback engraved with “Louis Erard x Kudoke” and the limited edition number (“1 of 100” or “1 of 78,” depending on the model) – not to forget the signed dial and its layout, all add to the appeal of this collaborative release.
The collection is powered by the self-winding Sellita SW266-1A movement, an élaboré-grade calibre with a 38-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The Louis Erard x Kudoke limited edition timepieces come with either light or dark grey and beige calfskin straps with tone-on-tone stitching. The straps are fastened with a steel pin buckle and feature quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes. The price is CHF 4,000 for the models with coloured dials and CHF 4,500 for the mother-of-pearl variant, excluding taxes.

The 42mm size is a show stopper as far as I’m concerned 🙁
In my opinion, the biggest issue with every Louis Erard timepiece in the past 3 to 5 years is the price tag. I love their designs and they use high end materials/finishing on some of their dials. But, the quality of the movements are incredibly lacking for the price points of their watches. A consumer could purchase a higher grade SW266-1 Régulateur movement on eBay for under $350.00 USD. A timepiece that retails for north of $5000.00 USD with a movement that costs under $350.00 USD to an everyday consumer on eBay (Only Sellita knows what price Lois Erard is paying for their movements) is very unfortunate. For the price, the movements used should have a high level of finish with blued screws and chronometer specifications.
…… and a L2L 50mm 😔
I really like this piece. Size is great as I thought the regular Kudos is on the smaller size for me at 39mm. The design is stellar. I have been thinking about making the jump and buying it all weekend long.
