The New Khaki Green Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture
While the series is a classic unaffected by fleeting trends, a subtle infusion of freshness is always appreciated.
First introduced over a decade ago, the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture has since become a popular timepiece in Frederique Constant‘s catalogue. Over the years, the watch, capable of displaying time across the 24 standard time zones, has been offered in various dial colours, including blue, grey, rich green and brown. Yet, it has consistently stayed true to its original design, providing customers with excellent value for money. Many past Worldtimer Manufacture references were released as limited editions and are not part of the current collection. This month, the series welcomes a fresh addition – a new duo of Classic Worldtimer Manufacture versions featuring a khaki green dial.
The new Classic Worldtimer Manufacture in khaki green is a limited edition; Frederique Constant will only make 36 pieces in rose gold and 718 in stainless steel. The case maintains its three-piece construction and dimensions across all editions, with a 42mm diameter and a height of 12.5mm. While a smaller case might align better with current trends, the watch’s proportions remain timeless and classic, and Frederique Constant’s decision to retain these dimensions suggests its customers appreciate the established design. The fully polished case features a domed sapphire crystal on top and a transparent caseback. There are no push-buttons for adjustments of functions, and the fluted onion-like crown at three o’clock is used to wind the watch, for time, date, and city setting, thus covering all the operational needs. Water resistance is 30m for the rose gold case and 50m for steel.
While retaining a familiar aesthetic, the dial of the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture remains captivating with its details and finishes. A world map is depicted at its centre with silver-tone land masses in relief and khaki-green oceans. The same colour scheme extends to the prominent subdial at 6 o’clock, which features a stamped sunray guilloche-like pattern and silver-coloured markers – dots for even numbers and numerals for odd – used for the date indication. The applied hour indices, positioned on the world map section of the dial, are presented as dots filled with luminous material.
Moving outward, a 24-hour disc to read home time features alternating silver and khaki-green segments for day and night indication. Surrounding that is the white city disc, with the names of 24 time-zone-defining locations in black and the GMT with -1/+1 indicated in red. The handset and indices are rose gold-plated on the rose gold edition, while the stainless steel versions opt for silver-toned finishes. The hour and minute hands are hand-polished and treated for luminescence. A small plaque with the brand’s logo is applied, bridging the continents of the northern hemisphere, adding a certain depth and a layered, three-dimensional quality to the dial.
Both editions of the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture are powered by the automatic in-house FC-718 calibre, operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour and offering a modest but adequate 38-hour power reserve. Through the display caseback, the movement is showcased, featuring perlage, circular Côtes de Genève, and blued screws, adding a touch of elegance.
The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture with the khaki green dial is complemented by a dark green alligator leather strap with off-white stitching, secured with a folding clasp. Prices start at EUR 4,395 for the stainless steel version, while the rose gold-cased model is priced at EUR 18,995. For more, visit frederiqueconstant.com.

Any concern that the other side of the world blocked by the date disc? When in Bangkok you cannot see the time n NY -huh – been like this for years! No Go for sure.
For a watch in this price range I find it absolutely jarring that the lume los like it clashes with all other elements of the dial. They should have gone for slightly more beige. The way it is now, I just couldn’t buy one for that fact alone, and then the size is still not mentioned.
