With the Masterlink Boutique Edition, Gerald Charles aims to reinforce its preference for controlled distribution and direct customer dialogue. Available only through the brand’s boutiques in Geneva and Nagoya, this limited edition follows the earlier Masterlink series. First introduced in 2024, the Masterlink asymmetric case builds on the Maestro design by Gérald Charles Genta, featuring its signature “smile” at 6 o’clock.

For the Masterlink, the original rectangular geometry has been reworked into an integrated shape, measuring 38mm by 38mm and only 7.99mm thick. The 31-component case now boasts a Darkblast finish, a matte and monochromatic look that adds some drama to the whole watch. Slim for an integrated-bracelet sports watch, the case remains water-resistant to 100m with a screw-down crown. The sapphire crystal is AR-coated on both sides, and the transparent caseback reveals the movement.

This new reference features a black, double-layer construction dial with vertical sunray finishing. Built on two distinct levels, it retains the watch’s strong vertical theme. The baton indices and hands are treated with white Super-LumiNova, and the minutes track is also rendered in white.

Powering the Masterlink Boutique Edition is the automatic calibre GCA1000, a movement with a 50-hour power reserve, developed for the brand by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. It boasts an offset micro-rotor, allowing the movement to measure 2.67mm in height. The finishing mirrors the dial’s vertical lines, with Côtes de Genève stripes on the bridges and a golden micro-rotor with sandblasted and sunburst finishes. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour and offers hacking seconds, Incabloc shock protection and a compact construction of 176 components.

The integrated bracelet is a key element of the design. Made from 316L stainless steel with a darkblast finish, it has a fully concealed construction: hidden screws, integrated pushers and an invisible butterfly clasp. This approach recalls Gérald Genta’s 2007 Sarawak commission, the brand’s first integrated bracelet watch and the conceptual origin of the Masterlink. The Gerald Charles Masterlink Boutique Edition comes with a 5-year warranty; the price is on request.
