Gérald Charles Maestro 2.0 Meteorite Editions
The first Gérald Charles watch with a meteorite dial is also the first with small seconds.
Founded in 2000 by legendary designer Gérald Genta, the brand Gérald Charles, now under the leadership of CEO Federico Ziviani, has become known for its approach to technical refinement and design innovation within the distinctive Maestro case, an instantly recognisable creation of Genta. Gérald Charles continues to develop its collections based on Genta’s artistic legacy, and the Maestro line remains at the heart of this identity. From tiger’s eye in the 2025 Seddiqi Edition to its latest reference, the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite, the brand maintains the collection’s core technical and aesthetic foundations, as the latest Maestro 2.0 marks the first use of meteorite and the first model in the collection to feature a small seconds display.
The new Maestro 2.0 Meteorite shares the previous generation’s refined 39mm by 41mm case proportions, a slim 9mm profile, and a modular steel construction of 35 components, with a total weight of 80 grams. The case remains defined by its rounded octagonal shape, stepped bezel, and signature “smile” at six o’clock. Two versions are offered: the Black model features a Darkblast-finished steel case, while the Silver model comes in a polished steel case, and both have a vertical brushed display caseback. Water-resistance is 100m.
For the dial, the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite uses material sourced from the Muonionalusta meteorite, estimated to be 4.5 billion years old and among the oldest known on Earth. Each dial is shaped by electroerosion, a process that allows precise cutting of ultra-thin layers without oxidation. The meteorite, anthracite or white, is mounted over a dual-layer aluminium baseplate, red anodised for the black version and rhodium-finished opaline for the silver edition, visible through a cut-out exploding star shape that radiates from the centre.
Both versions feature applied Roman numerals and baton indexes deformed and seemingly in disarray, as if from the central blast. Indices and flat baton hands are filled with Super-LumiNova X1, and the small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock is star-shaped, in red and orange for the Black, and gold coloured, matching the dial details, for the Silver edition.
The Maestro 2.0 Meteorite is powered by the GCA2011 automatic calibre, made by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This 3.7mm-thick movement operates at 28,800vph and offers a 50-hour power reserve. The decoration includes circular graining, Côtes de Genève, colimaçon finishing, and yellow gold engravings. The rotor features the Gérald Charles honeycomb motif.
Each variant is supplied with two straps, one rubber and one Velcro, matching the dial colour, equipped with quick-release spring bars and closed with a Grade 5 titanium buckle with Darkblast finishing. The Maestro 2.0 Meteorite is limited to 100 pieces per version and priced at EUR 21,000 (silver) or EUR 22,000 (black). For more details, please visit geraldcharles.com.
