A Green Dial for the Favre Leuba Sea Sky Revival
A new dial colour for the vintage-spirited Sea Sky Revival with modern specs.
As one of the oldest names in the Swiss watch industry, Favre Leuba’s fortunes have fluctuated over the centuries. During the 1960s, Favre Leuba had a notable run of iconic, heavy-duty tool watches. Having changed hands several times, industry veteran Patrik Hoffmann was behind the relaunch of Favre Leuba staged during Geneva Watch Days 2024. Among the 22 launch products was the Sea Sky Revival, a chronograph inspired by a 1960s model featuring a reverse panda dial, tachymeter and telemeter scales and modern specifications. Following the black, brown and blue editions, Favre Leuba releases a new Sea Sky Revival with a vibrant green dial.
Satisfying the demand for retro-inspired watches with modern specs, the Sea Sky Revival borrows many design cues from its ancestor, including the tricompax layout of the dial, the piston-style pushers, the large and easy-to-grip crown, the notched bezel, and the sharply angled lugs. Presented in a 40mm stainless steel case with a robust thickness of 15.23mm, the case is water-resistant to 100 metres and decorated with brushed and polished finishes.
Contemporary upgrades, such as the glossy black ceramic inlay in the bezel and the double-domed sapphire crystal replacing the acrylic glass of the vintage models, give the watch a sharper finish. Like the original, the tachymetre and telemetre scales are printed in white on the sunburst green dial with three black recessed and snailed counters. The two chronograph counters – 30 minutes at 3 o’clock and 12 hours at 6 o’clock – feature arrow-tipped hands that match the tip of the broad arrow minutes hand. The applied index at noon, the triangle on the bezel, the printed indices and the hour and minute hands have an inlay of green-emission Super-LumiNova.
Powered by the FLC01 calibre ( La Joux-Perret L112 top grade), this automatic column-wheel chronograph beats at 4Hz and delivers a respectable power reserve of 60 hours. The heat-blued column wheel and the customised openworked rose gold PVD rotor are visible, along with the blued screws, Côtes de Genève, and perlage decorations.
The Sea Sky Revival is paired with a black leather strap with quick-release push pins and a steel pin buckle. It retails for CHF 3,950. More information at favreleuba.com.
