Farer is a British watchmaking brand founded on the principles of adventurous design, accessible quality, and mechanical integrity. It builds its reputation by blending Swiss craftsmanship with bold colour, texture, and storytelling. Every Farer collection feels both familiar and fresh, rooted in heritage but always forward-looking. The Moonphase Collection, launched in 2023, brought that same approach to one of watchmaking’s oldest poetic complications. Farer’s take stripped away formality and gave the moon phase new character with hand-painted discs, luminous moons, and vivid dials inside the brand’s compact cushion case. The first models quickly sold out; the 2024 Baily, with its aventurine stone dial, got noticed, to say the least. Now, for 2025, Farer adds two new interpretations: the Stratton, featuring a warm gold PVD case and natural Eisenkiesel stone dial, and the Burbidge Eastern Arabic Edition, a limited model in arctic blue with Eastern Arabic numerals.

Both new references share the 38.5mm cushion case that defines the collection, measuring 43.8mm lug-to-lug. The case balances polished and brushed finishes; a subtle brushed chamfer borders the bezel’s polished surface, while the curved flanks display a distinctive “grain twist” texture, a Farer signature. Between the lugs, the case is scalloped so that the strap sits flush, enhancing integration. The case is fitted with front and back sapphire crystals (the front with internal AR coating) and is water-resistant to 50 metres. The rounded crown boasts a solid bronze cap embossed with the Farer “A”, a nod to the brand’s early models.

The moon phase display remains the central focus. Each disc is hand-painted in Switzerland, depicting a deep night sky and a circular moon made from X1 Super-LumiNova, its surface textured to mimic the lunar landscape.

The Stratton honours Frederick Stratton, a decorated WWI veteran and a noted mathematician and astronomer. It pairs a gold PVD case with a dial cut from Eisenkiesel, a variety of quartz veined with iron compounds that create natural golden-brown streaks; no two dials are identical. To match this warm colour, Farer developed a gold-tinted Super-LumiNova in collaboration with Tritec for the moon disc, making the Stratton the first model in the brand’s history to feature this luminous tone.

The Burbidge Eastern Arabic Edition, limited to 100 pieces, is named after a British-American observational astronomer and astrophysicist. This model introduces a different visual identity. Its arctic-blue sunburst dial reflects light in soft gradients, and every numeral, including the hours, date, minute track, and moon phase scale, appears in Eastern Arabic script. The moon is rendered in baby pink, a reference to the “Pink Moon” of April, and stands out against the blue backdrop. Both models feature white Lumicast numerals (a luminous ceramic composite), a colour-matched framed date at six o’clock, and a polished lance handset filled with Super-LumiNova for crisp nighttime visibility.

Powering both versions is the Sellita SW288-1 M a (Elaboré Grade), a manual-winding calibre beating at 28,800 vibrations/hour. The movement has hacking seconds and a quick-set date function. It offers a 45-hour power reserve when fully wound. Visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback, the movement is decorated with blued screws and Farer’s arrow-pattern engraved bridge.

The watches are worn on supple leather straps equipped with a quick-release system. The Stratton is part of the permanent collection and is priced at GBP 1,825 or EUR 2,125. The Burbidge Eastern Arabic Edition is limited to 100 pieces, priced at GBP 1,695 or EUR 1,950.
