Czapek Revisits its Antarctique Sector, Revelation and Tourbillon in Titanium and Cosmic Blue
Three emblematic Antarctique models return in lightweight titanium cases with Cosmic Blue dials.
Czapek launched the Antarctique collection in 2020 as its first luxury sports watch built around the in-house calibre SXH5, marking a major step in the brand’s modern revival. Striking a refined balance between luxury and everyday wearability, Czapek unveils titanium interpretations of three emblematic references: Dark Sector, Révélation and the Tourbillon. Lighter, stronger and more contemporary, these limited editions are further unified by their shared Cosmic Blue dials.
While the overall specifications of the Antarctique models remain the same, the combination of titanium’s muted grey tones and Czapek’s proprietary Cosmic Blue works very well. Known for its lightweight yet durable qualities, titanium is also notoriously difficult to machine. As members of the Antarctique family, the models share a flat, tonneau-shaped case with rounded crown guards on the right, a narrow, round, polished bezel with a glass-box sapphire crystal, and an integrated bracelet with C-shaped central links. For the first time, the integrated titanium bracelet can be ordered with fully brushed links for a sportier appearance or a combination of brushed and polished links for a more refined look.
Another common feature shared by the Dark Sector and Révélation is Czapek’s first in-house calibre, SXH5 (and its openworked re-engineered SXH7), with its off-centred recycled platinum micro-rotor, a 60-hour power reserve on a single barrel, and a variable-inertia balance oscillating at 4 Hz, held beneath one of seven finger bridges – five of which are openworked to reveal the movement.
The Antarctique Titanium Dark Sector of 2023 was Czapek’s first titanium watch and featured a distinctive sector-style dial. Its understated monochrome appeal, the result of combining the grey, muted tones of titanium with a dark sector dial, is now reinterpreted in a livelier mix of titanium and Cosmic Blue. Available in a 40.5mm x 10.6mm case as well as a 38.5mm x 10.6mm case, the velvety blue dial features the two concentric rows of curved applied elements, segmented at each hour so the gaps become the hour markers rather than the metal pieces themselves. Minimalist yet elegant, the only other information on the dial is the white minutes/seconds track on the periphery, with a small red marker at noon that matches the tip of the central seconds hand. Unusual for a sports watch, the only trace of luminescence is found on the tips of the hour and minute hands. Price is CHF 32,000.
The Antarctique Révélation was Czapek’s more dramatic, skeletonised model built around calibre SXH7, a re-engineered evolution of SXH5 with a reversed escapement visible on the dial side. The key idea is to expose the mechanics on the dial side, including the reversed escapement and the visible stop-seconds system. Other adaptations were the removal of the date function and central seconds in favour of a small seconds display. In a departure from the earlier model, the titanium model replaces the smoked sapphire crystal ring of the small seconds at 4:30 with a Cosmic Blue ring that matches the peripheral minutes track, which hosts the applied indices. Like the Dark Sector, the Révélation is available in 40.5mm and 38.5mm cases. Price is CHF 42,000.
The Antarctique Tourbillon Cosmic Blue is the most technically elevated of the trio, built around calibre 9 and a dial-side flying tourbillon display. With a similar mission to the Révélation, the design principle was to display the key elements of its calibre on the dial. Aligned vertically, the tourbillon, gear train and barrel float above the dial’s hand- guilloché Singularité pattern, which gives the watch a striking sense of depth. The titanium version amplifies that effect by pairing the light metal with the intense Cosmic Blue dial. The Tourbillon is only available in a 40.5mm case size. Price is CHF 67,000.
