Czapek Inaugurates its Quai des Bergues 27 Boutique with Special Editions of the Quai des Bergues and Place Vendôme Complicité

Coinciding with Geneva Watch Days, Czapek & Cie opens a new flagship boutique at Quai des Bergues 27, a symbolic address for the brand where, in 1839, François Czapek and Polish émigré Antoni Patek laid the foundations of Patek, Czapek & Cie. To mark the occasion, Czapek releases two special editions: a Quai des Bergues Midnight in Geneva dress watch in a 40.5mm stainless steel case and a 10-piece platinum edition of the Place Vendôme with Glacier Blue accents.

The Quai des Bergues address holds a special place in the narrative of the revived Czapek brand. For six years, the atelier founded by François Czapek and Antoni Patek produced some of the era’s most prestigious high-end timepieces. Following the dissolution of the partnership in 1845, Czapek founded his eponymous brand and opened a boutique on the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris, another symbolic location for the brand that was revived in 2015 by Xavier de Roquemaurel with the inaugural Quai des Bergues collection.

The flagship Quai des Bergues 27 boutique opened in July 2026, followed by an inaugural event at the start of Geneva Watch Days.

Quai des Bergues midnight in Geneva

The Quai des Bergues references a 2019 model in a 42.5mm case with a deep blue aventurine glass dial and the brand’s manual-winding SXH1 with a seven-day power reserve. A couple of things have changed since then, including the introduction of a 40.5mm case size and an updated movement. The new edition adopts the intermediate 40.5mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.9mm. A defining feature of the case, the hollowed-out flanks are highlighted with bead-blasted interiors and polished edges. The lugs of the intermediate case size feature a sharper, more aggressive downward slope. The fluted crown is flanked by integrated crown guards, and the dial is protected by a curved sapphire crystal.

Like the 2019 edition, the blue aventurine glass dial sparkles with tiny flecks of metallic particles like a starry night sky. As a model with two recessed sub-dials for the small seconds and power reserve indicator and weekdays, the aventurine background of the counters is cut independently and set onto the metal plate. Classical Roman numerals mark the hours indicated by silver-coated steel Fleur de Lys hands. The watch is a limited edition of 18 pieces and retails for CHF 20,400 / EUR 22,500.

Place Vendôme Complicité glacier blue

The Place Vendôme Complicité, with its striking openworked double escapement, returns as a limited edition of 10 numbered pieces in luxurious platinum cases. The idea of a double regulator was brought to life by German master watchmaker Bernhard Lederer in 2023. Using the signature layout of the Place Vendôme, with sub-dials forming the base of a pyramid and a third sub-dial at the apex, the escapements are fitted at 4:30 and 7:30, with the differential connecting them at noon, and their trains running down the centre, fully exposed thanks to the two sapphire bridges.

The fascinating spectacle of the independent 3Hz balance wheels oscillating in opposite directions is now highlighted by the new light blue grained mainplate. The circular minutes and hour track is picked out in an attractive Glacier Blue tone with applied mirror-polished indices and partially skeletonised sword hands. The 41.8mm platinum case, with a thickness of 13.3mm, features sandblasted, hollowed-out lugs and crown guards.

The proprietary manual-winding calibre 8 delivers a 72-hour power reserve indicated between the two balances. The reverse side reveals other components of Lederer’s 293-part movement with contemporary matte grey bridges and refined haute horlogerie finishings. The Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue retails for CHF 103,000 / EUR 113,000.
