Founded in 1848, Omega won countless precision trials and established itself as one of the most solid and celebrated names in watchmaking. From the headline-grabbing Moon landing of the Speedmaster in 1969 to Omega’s role as the official Olympic timekeeper (starting in 1932), from James Bond to George Daniel’s breakthrough co-axial escapement, few brands can rival Omega’s illustrious history and ongoing appeal. In 2015 Omega implemented the Master Chronometer certification. Approved by METAS, it tests water-resistance, precision and magnetic-resistance to 15,000 gauss, far above industry standards. Omega is part of the Swatch Group.
