After successfully launching its gallery for pre-owned and vintage watches in Geneva, back in September 2019, Bucherer, the world’s largest watch retailer, which has been selling only new watches for decades, continues the expansion of its ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ programme and now introduces this service in its Parisian flagship store – said to be the world’s largest watch store. Originally planned to open in March 2020, the Bucherer Gallery now welcomes customers looking for vintage and pre-owned watches to be trusted.
Located on Boulevard des Capucines, right next door to the Paris Opera House and to the Rue de la Paix (where most high-end watchmakers and jewellers are based), Bucherer Paris store has become the group’s flagship. With the inauguration of its 2,200m2 boutique in April 2013, it is currently the world’s largest watch store and a must-see for watch enthusiasts. After Zurich, Geneva and Hamburg, the brand now integrates its Certified Pre-Owned programme in Paris with a dedicated150m2 salon and a selection of pre-owned and vintage watches, as well as accessories.
With its long history as a watch retailer, Bucherer (which also integrates Tourneau LLC and Baron & Leeds) couldn’t overlook the growing second-hand watch market. With more and more clients looking for transparency and certification of the watches they invest in, the group has developed its own programme where all the watches for sale at Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned are tested, authenticated, serviced if required and come with a two-year guarantee (the procedure is explained here).
In addition to its online boutique, Bucherer will also open dedicated salons for certified pre-owned watches, including the newly-inaugurated one in Paris. The group plans to have 10 such galleries, including a special project in Covent Garden, London, as well as spaces in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Luzern and more locations in Switzerland.
