The New Awake Son Mai Silver Leaf Jurassic Watches
Run for your life; not one but two predators are coming to test who’s at the end of the food chain.

Do you remember where you were back in June 1993 when Jurassic Park first roared onto movie screens? Even more so… Do you remember the thrill of watching that incredible story unfold? The wonder of the dinosaurs, the groundbreaking special effects, and that feeling of what if this could actually happen? Now, you’ve got a chance to relive that excitement. Not by rewatching Spielberg’s original film with Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Richard Attenborough, but through a very special release from an independent French brand, Awake… The Jurassic Watch. It’s a tribute that captures the magic, nostalgia, and awe of that unforgettable cinematic moment.
Awake’s Sơn Mài collection was the brand’s first permanent line, time-only watches beautifully showcasing the ancestral Vietnamese art of sanded lacquer paired with pure silver leaf gilding. It also marked a new step for Awake, introducing 39mm stainless steel cases and Swiss-made La Joux-Perret movements for the first time. Now, part of this elegant family comes something a little wilder: the Jurassic Watch. It starts Awake’s new series, “A Tribute to the Seventh Art,” which celebrates iconic movies that “have enchanted our youth and fuelled our imagination”.
The Jurassic Watch comes in two dino-inspired editions: T-Rex and Raptors, each distinguished by their dial designs. The Raptors version features a deep green dial that stares right back at you, like locking eyes with one of the cunning predators. Check out the three claw marks slashing above 6 o’clock. It is a direct nod to that unforgettable kitchen scene where the raptors figure out how to open doors and look to eat the children. The T-Rex edition roars onto the wrist with a fiery orange dial with two claw marks, evoking the heart-pounding moment when the T-Rex attacks the stranded cars in the storm – feel the chill?
Turn the watch over, and the cinematic references continue. The movement ring is engraved with jungle-inspired motifs, and each version is inscribed with a famous quote from the film. The T-Rex bears “Spare No Expense,” while the Raptors get the “Life Finds a Way.” (Not sure who said what? It’s time for a rewatch!)
Telling time on these is a joy – lacquered dials with applied indices and hands coated in Super-LumiNova keep things clear day or night. Inside beats the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, offering a good 68-hour power reserve. Each version is paired with a leather strap made from scaled salmon skin, in deep green for the Raptors, bright orange for the T-Rex, with an iridescent finish, and fastened with a stainless steel pin buckle.
Only 50 pieces of each design exist, priced at EUR 2,075 before taxes. For full specifications, check below. To secure your example before they go extinct, visit awakewatches.com.
