Bell and Ross BR03-92 Nightlum - Pre-Baselworld 2018

The main objective of a pilot’s watch is to be legible, in every possible situation – during the day as well as at night. This means: avoiding reflections; making sure there is no way to confuse the indications; providing strong contrasts and luminescence even in pitch-black conditions. As a preview for Baselworld 2018, Bell & Ross launches a “back to basics” model, with a new version of its iconic military/pilot watch that fits the legibility bill perfectly. Meet the new Bell & Ross BR03-92 Nightlum.

Although the new BR03-92 Nightlum comes with a smaller 42mm diameter, it is based on the iconic dashboard instrument-inspired watch by Bell & Ross. This signature design, with its square case and round bezel and dial was introduced 12 years ago with the BR 01. Its distinctive design needs no introduction and has contributed to the success of the brand. It has been derived in multiple variations and themes – military, racing, diving – but today’s watch is a true return to the roots of the brand.

Bell and Ross BR03-92 Nightlum - Pre-Baselworld 2018

The new Bell & Ross BR03-92 Nightlum is all about displaying the time in the most legible way. A stealth watch, all the functions are contrasted, simple and extremely legible. Every function that indicates the time glows with bright green lume. Day or night, the BR03-92 Nightlum is a true “instant time-teller”. Indeed, with its stealth matte black ceramic case, matte black dial and the anti-reflective coating, the light-green coated indexes and hands are hard to miss.

At night, the indications emit an intense green light and the excellent luminescence contrasts dramatically with the matte black dial. The hands and indexes, including the signature Arabic numerals, are coated with Superluminova® C3. The large propeller-shaped hands and the specific position of the indexes avoid any potential confusion.

The Bell & Ross BR03-92 Nightlum is presented in a 42mm x 42mm ceramic case, with a grey-green calfskin strap on a black PVD pin buckle. An additional ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap is offered too. Inside the case is an automatic movement (Sellita-based) with hours, minutes, seconds and date. Despite being a watch made for heights, the case is water-resistant to 100m.

The Bell & Ross BR03-92 Nightlum will soon be available on the brand’s webshop and at retailers. It will be priced at EUR 3,400. More details on bellross.com.
