Revolo Chronograph Fully Customizable Watches

Recently, we introduced to you an interesting concept from Revolo. The idea behind this brand was to offer a complete customization program in order to create your very own watch. Dials, case shape and coating, hands, crown, straps and bracelets, and more importantly, movement type are all options. After having created over 1,000 customized 3-hand watches, Revolo is now moving to another type of timepiece, the chronograph… But still with the same personalization idea. Now launching on Kickstarter.

Revolo Chronograph Fully Customizable Watches

Behind the brand is a basic principle: people want their personal objects to reflect who they are. With this very idea in mind the watch manufacturer Revolo, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, have specialized in custom made and personalized watches. Everything started with 3-hand watches, on which you could change and personalize almost everything. The shape of the case (from a sporty one to an original cushion-shaped), the type of movement (quartz, Miyota Automatic or Automatic Swiss ETA-clone), the dial, the colour of the case, the crown, the hands, the strap and, of course, the engraving on the back. We experienced it ourselves, by creating a unique piece for Monochrome. And the result, considering the price, was pretty impressive – and how much fun is it to create your own watch!

Today, Revolo have done it again, by launching on Kickstarter their new project: the same customization concept, same in-depth options to change the look, but now with a new type of movement: the Revolo Chronograph. The base is an automatic Swiss movement, based on the famous and reliable Valjoux 7750 architecture (hence the 6-9-12 display), manufactured by movement-maker Concepto (a well-known and trustworthy partner). And once you chose the movement type (there’s also a Quartz version, more on that later), there comes the fun: personalization.

Just like they did with the 3-hand watches, you’ll have the chance to change almost every component of the watch to make sure it resembles what you really want. As of now, one case shape is available: 42mm in steel, with a sporty, masculine, slightly racing-style that befits the chronograph function. You’ll have the option between nude steel, PVD rose gold or PVD black. Then come no fewer than 9 options for the bezel (polished, brushed, with tachymeter insert), 3 dial options (white, blue, black), 3 options for the chronograph pushers (steel, black, gold), dozens of different hands (with choices for the main hand, the chronograph hands and the second hand), 22 different crowns and pretty much all you need for the strap, the bracelet or the buckle… In short, there are very few chances that you’ll see two identical Revolo Chronograph watches!

The way to create the Revolo Chronograph is simple, by using an online configurator that will guide you through the options – you can play with it here. Once the Kickstarter campaign closes, the Revolo Chronograph will be available from EUR 1,645, however, with the campaign now running, early subscribers can get their hands on a fully customizable Revolo Chronograph for EUR 949 – which is admittedly attractive for a Valjoux 7750 powered watch.

As for the specs of the Revolo Chronograph:

  • 316L stainless steel cases, 42mm diameter
  • Polished and brushed surfaces
  • Concepto 7750 Swiss-Made automatic movement (time, date, chronograph)
  • Sapphire crystal on both sides
  • 100m water resistant
  • Quick changing system for the straps
  • Luminova on the indexes and hands
  • 3-year warranty

The Revolo Chronograph Kickstarter Campaign is now opened for backers. Deliveries of the first watches are expected in Q1 / 2018. More details on www.revolo-watches.com.

An affordable Quartz option

In addition to the automatic version we just showed you, the Revolo Chronograph will also be available with a Swiss Ronda quartz chronograph movement, with tri-compax display, meaning a slightly different style for the dial. The rest of the watch remains entirely equal and the cutomization options offered are the same. Price is of course lower, with the Kickstarter campaign offering the watch from EUR 279.

  1. Revolo??? Serious? For the price you can buy a Hamilton chrono, a real watch with a real name.

  2. A Hamilton Chrono automatic is priced at over Euro 1.700 and it is not custom made.
