Basel news: Sarpaneva’s new Korona in gold

| By Frank Geelen | 2 min read |

Just in time before the start of Baselworld Stepan Sarpaneva releases his new Korona RG and WG. I’ve reported about Sarpaneva’s watches before, the last time when he released his beautiful K3 Black Moon. The new Sarpaneva Korona has a different case shape, comes in white or red gold and is slightly smaller. Personally i applaud the move to smaller especially when it comes to watches with nice complications like a moonphase! If you wonder what my opinion is about tis watch, than just take a look at my banner. But enough chichat, let’s take a closer look at the new Korona Red Gold.

The new casedesign is more pronounced. The typical scallops are now cut right through the case from front to the caseback, making the design even more bold. The Korona RG and WG are Sarpaneva’s first watches in gold. Like on the K3 Moon phase the new Korona RG and WG have the hallmark rotor with the Sarpaneva moon. Personally i still haven’t made up my mind wether the moon looks angry, sad, smiling or aristocratic… but it is the most intruiging moonphase i’ve ever seen!

I can give you all the specifications myself but maybe you can better read it in the official press release. I have never included a press release before but this time i will make an exception. The press release also contains an interview with Stepan Sarpaneva. It might seem like a long text, but trust me it’s an excellent read 🙂

And if you don’t have anough money to buy the watch, than you could also contact Stepan Sarpaneva and ask him about the Korona cufflinks he created. But be fast, these beautiful silver cufflinks are limited to only 50 pieces!
